Good cigar to take on the golf course…the Monte Cristo White Churchill

When I go golfing I look for a certain type of cigar. I like to bring a big smoke that will last at least 9 holes, but is also enjoyable while being “some-what” active. The Monte Cristo White Churchill has made its way to several rounds over the years.(Click here for previous golf posts)

I had a good friend that gave me a box of these smokes a couple years ago. Before that, I used to smoke a MC white on occasion….Usually when attending the former Monte Cristo Club at the Amway Arena (Still getting over the loss of that place). Anyway, having the box gave me a better appreciation for these cigars.

Monte Cristo and its parent company, Altadis USA, are a huge name in the cigar industry. There is a very good chance you have had one of their smokes over the years…from their Rome y Julieta line of cigars to the H. Upmanns and Trinadad. Some of their cigars are very good for a new/novice cigar smoker because they are lighter in body and easy to find anywhere. golf cigar

The White label from Monte Cristo is always consistent. It is well made and burns nice a slow. A big plus on the gold course. It claims to be medium-full strength but I find it more on the medium side with a very nice balance. The first puff is sometimes a little bitter but the cigar evens out and has a cosistenet flavor that works well while you are playing a round.

In conclusion…JK recommends that you add this smoke to your list of “golf cigars”. Go with the churchill size to get maximum time out of it. You can find these at almost any cigar shop…and some liquor stores for around $10-11.
